In today’s increasingly stressful & artificial world, good health is becoming a rarity. I firmly believe that the only true way to address the ever increasing burden of illness is through using natural therapies in a holistic way to allow the body to gradually cleanse, restore and rebuild from within. Swallowing yet another pill may mask the symptoms of disease, but the underlying condition is likely to remain or become worsened over a period of time. True health can only be restored by recognizing the underlying problem & assisting the body to return to it’s natural state of balance.

Medical Herbalist’s are trained in many of the diagnostic methods used by your GP, such as gentle non-invasive examination, blood pressure measurement and urine analysis. A full case history is taken to uncover the various life experiences and previous illnesses which have led to the current ill health before the herbalist prepares an individual prescription from a range of medicinal herbs. Medicine is commonly in tincture form, but dry herbs/infusion, capsules or creams may be used. Results are not instantaneous, because the medicines are working with your body to make actual changes, not just easing the symptoms. Attention to diet and lifestyle is also an important part of taking control of your health, for which advice will be given.

The Bowen Technique is a gentle form of body work which stimulates the body’s own capacity to release physical tension, rebalance energetically and encourage realignment. Although primarily used to address musculo-skeletal problems such as back, hip, shoulder, neck and knee pain, the treatment is holistic and moves the body towards general fuller health. Regular treatments can help to manage stress and encourage health maintenance. The gentle moves used by the therapist at precise points over soft tissue are interspersed by short rest periods to allow the body to respond , make subtle adjustments and initiate the healing process.
